MEDIA SERVICES
There are three major sources of media available in the
North
Okanagan: television, radio and newspapers.
Television
In the North Okanagan, each local cable television service supplier
has their own local community channel as well as two major television
channels reaching the Okanagan
Valley and the province of British Columbia.
CHBC
CHBC is a television station in Kelowna, BC owned by Canwest. A former CBC affiliate, as of Aug 2009 the station carries programming from the Global Television Network, branded as Global Okanagan.

Radio
Two major radio stations broadcast directly and service the North Okanagan region. As well, the signals from radio
stations in the Central Okanagan and the Shuswap are also available
in the North Okanagan.
Kiss FM
KissFM (107.5) is a division of The Jim Pattison Group
and offers live broadcast 24 hours a day, seven days a week, up-to-the-minute
news, sports and information. The radio station also offers Internet Access with 1075 Kiss.

SunFM
SunFM is a Vernon radio station that plays a mix of Adult Contemporary
Hit Radio with Pop. SunFM is also offered in
Kelowna
and
Penticton
but provides entertainment with a local focus "mixed"
with music by the biggest names in music. As well as music, the
station offers news, sports and specific community information.
The radio station also offers Internet Access with The Sun Online.

Newspapers
In the North Okanagan there are two major newspapers that reach
the majority of the region, and four smaller, community-focused
newspapers.
VERNON
The Morning Star
The Morning Star is a full-distribution, free-circulation community
newspaper serving the Vernon and surrounding areas including Armstrong,
Enderby, Lumby, Coldstream, Oyama and Falkland. The paper is published
on Sundays, Wednesdays and Fridays with over 30,300 papers delivered
to homes, residential and non-residential bulk and drop boxes
within the region.

The Daily Courier is a free-circulation community
newspaper serving the Vernon area. The paper is published
